Having studied Psychology at university, I worked as a teacher in secondary schools, specialising in supporting young people with additional needs. I then trained as a psychodynamic counsellor at the University of Cambridge.
I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and adhere to their ethical framework.
Through PTUK (Play Therapy UK), I also trained as a Therapeutic Play Practitioner (Christchurch University, Canterbury) and then a Play Therapist (Leeds Beckett University). This training included usng expressive arts which I often incorporate into therapy with adults and young people.
I work as an independent counsellor, psychotherapist and play therapist both privately and in secondary schools in Cambridgeshire. I am also an associate counsellor with HCCN (Huntingdon Community Cancer Network).
I am a qualified supervisor (Terapia) and supervise counsellors working with adults as well as counsellors or play therapists working with children and young people.
My private practice is based in Houghton, near Huntingdon.
